Education and Licensure
Katie received a BS from The College of William and Mary in neuroscience and religious studies, and a Master of Clinical Nutrition (MCN) from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Part of the master's level education involved over 1200 hours of supervised practice in dietetics.
Since 2013, Katie has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and is currently a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the state of Illinois.
Before becoming a dietitian, Katie worked in the non-profit sector for 7 years, specializing in leadership development, fundraising and event planning. Additionally, she worked in the food and retail industries, with a combined 10 years of experience, specializing in individualized service. Katie loves teaching and developing groups and individuals.
Never one to stay still, Katie owns and operates two businesses - Katie Goldberg nutrition counseling and EKG Nutrition, a partnership with fellow dietitian Elizabeth Kehoe.
Katie has always had a passion for healthy lifestyles, including good food and being active. She enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, and loves using her background in specialty cheese to pair good cheese and wine. Few things make her happier than surprising friends with how delicious healthy can taste.
Katie was a competitive gymnast for 11 years, and also enjoyed soccer and softball with friends. Now Katie is a runner, having competed in many half-marathons as well as two full marathons.
Katie lives in the Logan Square neighborhood with her husband and young daughter.
